Pet Portrait Commissions

Each pet portrait is a completely unique piece of art that captures the true personality and character of your pet.

Painted using the finest materials, from 300gsm acid free cold pressed paper to the highest quality Windsor and Newton watercolour paints.

Painting from photograph, I primarily work in A4 or A3 size, but am happy to discuss larger sizes. For A4 portraits, I only offer one subject (head, neck and shoulders) on the page. I can offer up to 3 pets on my A3 size portraits. For horse portraits and double portraits I recommend the A3 size.

You will receive regular updates via email of the progress of your portrait to ensure that you are happy.

All portraits come with a professional mount and are packaged with a recyclable cardboard backing and a cellophane sleeve, leaving you to choose the perfect frame.

I do offer a framing service if you require for an additional fee. Please contact me for further information.

FAQ

How do I order my own pet portrait and how long will it take to complete?

Enquiries to be emailed to me at charlottestoneartist@gmail.com. I will ask to see the photographs that you would like used and we will discuss their suitability. A 50% deposit is then required to secure your commission booking. I will then start creating your unique portrait. The outstanding amount is then required once the portrait is complete. Portraits are then packaged and posted off to their new home.

I have a 3 week leading time currently but I get very busy at Christmas, and my bookings open in September for portraits that need to be ready for the festive season.

How do I get the best photo of my pet for you to work from?

Having a good photo is crucial; I can only paint the details that I can see in the photos I’m given, so it’s REALLY important that the photos are as high quality as possible. Ideally take your photo in natural sunlight, without a flash.
Get on your pets level to take the photo-Take a knee to get eye-to-eye with your pet. This will result in a good composition for me to paint from. It often works well if you get someone else to hold a treat or squeaky toy for your pet to look at, whilst you take the photo.

On some occasions, it is not possible to take photos specifically for a portrait in mind. I am always happy have a look at old photos that you may already have, to advise which would make the best portrait.

I prefer for photos to be emailed to me digitally in the highest possible resolution, as this makes it easier for the image to be adapted if needs be.

What People Are Saying about my Pet Portraits…

“I cannot recommend Charlotte’s portraits enough. Charlotte painted an amazing dog portrait of our late girl Pepper. She captured our beautiful girls intricate detail amazingly. Due to circumstances, we were only able to provide pictures already taken and not all were a great resolution so this only adds to the talent of the artist after producing a piece of art that brought tears to whole families eyes. I can't thank you enough for what you have provided us with xx.”
